This is to inform you of the instances in which foreigners pay or do not pay for clinical and laboratory tests at our health facility.
Always submit your health insurance ID card or insurance document at the reception, with your doctor and in the blood sample box with the blood sample request form.
When foreigners PAY for clinical and laboratory tests:

Foreigners paying for a clinical test are not subject to a regulatory fee.
When foreigners DO NOT PAY for clinical and laboratory tests:

The foreigner only pays a regulatory fee of CZK 30 prior to the clinical test.
2) a citizen of a country of the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland, who is residing in the Czech Republic for an extended period of time, and did not travel to the Czech Republic for the sole purpose of health care.
He/she must be registered with a health insurance company in the Czech Republic (best with the insurance company VZP).
He/she has an insurance card or document confirmation of the Czech health insurance company with which he/she is registered.
3) a citizen of a non-EU country, who arranged insurance with the contractual insurance company VZP, a.s. – code 333 – the only one in the Czech Republic !!!, (address: Jankovcova, Prague 7, 170 00 ):
for comprehensive care (insurance card no. 169…) - it also covers endocrinological tests if the patient was not, prior to the arrangement of this health insurance, ill and given an endocrinological diagnosis for which he/she is treated at our facility.
The health insurance arranged with the contractual insurance company VZP is commercial insurance for a definite period of time, i.e. the foreigner pays for the health insurance and is treated under it in the Czech Republic.
RULES FOR ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
TO THE INSTITUTE OF ENDOCRINOLOGY
Over the past few years there has occurred a steep rise in the number of patients who are referred to our institiute. The outpatient-care capacity of physicians has been considerably exceeded by this. We’ve therefore been forced to pass the following measures as of 1 January 2012:
• New patients with treatment recommendations will be examined by our physicians before noon on the following days: Tuesday, Friday , in addition to their file they will pick up on the ground floor a card with a sequence number.
Starting at 7:00 a.m. they will be registered on the patient file according to their sequence number to 8:00 a.m.
• Each new patient must have a recommendation (Poukaz na vyšetření/ošetření ”K”) from a general practitioner or specialised physician – not older than one month. It must contain a clear reason for sending the patient to the institute with the results of the latest basic biochemical tests, results of other tests related to the patient’s diagnosis (if available), EKG results, or other available documentation as the case may be.
